PURPOSE: A side airbag apparatus is provided to prevent passengers from falling to the side as the side movements of passengers are restricted by an airbag cushion. CONSTITUTION: A side airbag apparatus comprises a seat frame(66), a seat cover(68), an inflator(10), an airbag cushion(20), an airbag support tether(40). The seat cover is supported by the seat frame. The inflator is supported by the seat frame, and generates gas. The airbag cushion is connected to the inflator. The airbag cushion is inflated by the gas, and deployed to the side of a passenger. The airbag support tether is connected to the airbag cushion and seat cover, and supports the airbag cushion to prevent the airbag cushion form widening. |
