The device (1) has a carrier structure (3) fixed on a wall (4) of a building. A shaft is connected to the structure and rotated around a pivot axis (I) to raise or lower a printed fabric (2). A beam (6) is connected to upper edge (2a) of the fabric. A tensioning beam (7) is connected to lower edge (2b) of the fabric. A locking unit locks the tensioning beam to prevent upward displacement of the tensioning beam beyond a predetermined position. A maintaining unit maintains the fabric in tension regardless of dimensional variations caused by external atmospheric conditions e.g. humidity.
