A display apparatus (100) is provided with: a display panel (10) including a first substrate (20) and a second substrate (30) opposed and affixed to each other; and a frame body (86) opposed to a peripheral portion of the display panel. The first substrate and the second substrate have different sizes. An exposed portion (22) is formed on a part of a peripheral portion of the first substrate, which is relatively large, that does not overlap with the second substrate. A protruding member (50) protruding in the direction of the frame body beyond an end portion (24) of the first substrate is formed on a part of the exposed portion.
