Disclosed is a feed additive composition for ruminants obtained by a method comprising: preparing a molten mixture formed from at least one protective agent selected from a hardened vegetable oil or a hardened animal oil having a melting point higher than 50 degrees C and lower than 90 degrees C, lecithin and at least one basic amino acid in an amount of 40% by weight or more and less than 65% by weight; and obtaining a solidified mixture by immersing said molten mixture into water, wherein the water activity of the feed additive composition for ruminants is 0.25 to 0.6.
