PURPOSE: A cam shaft with a sliding part with a different cam profile is provided to change the start and finish points of a shifting process according to the composition of a slot guide. CONSTITUTION: A cam shaft comprises a shifting unit. The shifting unit comprises a shift gate(14) with a slot guide track(16). The shifting unit comprises a shifting shaft(13) which is rotated around the rotary shaft of a basic cam shaft(2). A slot guide pin(11) is connected to a sliding element(5), and interlocks with the slot guide track. The slot guide track is a caterpillar type. The shifting of the sliding element is performed in the same direction with the shifting shaft.
