PURPOSE: A method for recognizing a location of an electric appliance is provided to improve the convenience of a user by setting or changing contents corresponding to the location of the electric appliance. CONSTITUTION: An electric appliance communicates for recognizing a location(S11). The electric appliance is connected to a communication component and recognizes fixed IP data in a connection path between the communication component and the electric appliance(S12). The electric appliance recognizes the use location of the fixed IP address based on the recognized fixed IP address information(S13). The electric appliance determines whether the contents corresponding to the recognized location information exists(S14). If the contents corresponding to the recognized location information exist, the electric appliance changes or sets the corresponding contents to the contents corresponding to the recognized location information(S15).
