<p>Traditional golf putters orient the golfer perpendicular to the path of the golf ball. In this invention the orientation of the golfer is rotated 90 degrees to be parallel to the path of the golf ball. The pendulum putter has a straight shaft and putter head similar to a conventional belly or long putter. The difference is that the shaft of the pendulum putter is bent at 90 degrees at the top of the putter just below the point which creates the grip of the putter. The bent shaft (See figure 1) is bent in a configuration that orients it parallel o the path of travel of the golf ball and perpendicular to the putter head. The head of the pendulum putter is oriented in the traditional manner of a conventional putter. To use a conventional putter the golfer stands beside the line of travel of the golf ball. With the pendulum putter the golfer stands parallel with the line of travel of the golf ball and holds the 90 degree handle to control the motion of the putter. He/she swings the putter between their legs to create the putting motion on a path parallel to - rather than perpendicular with -the path of travel of the golf ball.</p> |
