ULTRA FINE FIBER AND WIPING CLOTH CONTAINING ULTRA FINE FIBER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultra fine fiber excellent for the suppression of the dust generation by preventing the thread breakage due to the friction while maintaining high performance of e.g. wiping property and high absorbency that are characteristics for ultra fine fiber when used as a component of a wiping cloth.

SOLUTION: Provided is an ultra fine fiber having an average thread diameter of more than 1000 nm and 2500 nm or less and the variation of the average thread diameter CV% of 0 to 25% and the thread strength of 0.04 cN or more, which is obtained by subjecting a sea component of a sea-island type conjugate fiber to the elution treatment. Preferably a main component composing the ultra fine fiber is polyester.
