The bearing groove structure (22a) arranged on the bearing surface of fluid dynamic bearing, has defined length along center line and width perpendicular to the center line. The width of the bearing groove structure is varied with respect to length of bearing groove structure so that width of one end of bearing groove structure is smaller than width of other end. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) spindle motor; and (2) fluid dynamic bearing system.
