<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid oxide fuel battery of a sealless structure arranged so that a power generation cell is prevented from cracking by keeping a fuel electrode layer in a reduction condition at all times while the power generation cell is generating electric power. <P>SOLUTION: The solid oxide fuel battery of a sealless structure comprises: a plurality of power generation cells 1 each including a tabular solid electrolytic layer 2, a fuel electrode layer 3 formed on one surface on the tabular solid electrolytic layer 2, and an air electrode layer 4 formed on the other surface thereof; and a separator 5 operable to supply a fuel gas to the fuel electrode layer 3, and a separator 5 operable to supply an oxidant gas to the air electrode layer 4. In the battery, the plurality of power generation cells 1 are stacked on one another with the separators interposed therebetween in a plate-thickness direction thereof. The reaction of electric power generation is caused by supplying the fuel electrode layer 3 with the fuel gas, and the air electrode layer 4 with the oxidant gas. An exhaust gas produced as a result of this, and a remaining excess gas going unconsumed by the reaction of electric power generation are discharged outwardly from the outer periphery of each power generation cell 1. The fuel electrode layer 3 has an outer peripheral part 3a which is disposed inwardly from the solid electrolytic layer 2 and the outer peripheral part 5a of the separator 5. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
