<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a parking assistance device for guiding parking that is associated with the operation of immediately turning a turned steering wheel in an opposite direction and parking that is not associated with the operation of immediately turning the turned steering wheel in the opposite direction, only by a taken image and a steering operation. <P>SOLUTION: Target marks include a first target mark that indicates a rudder angle enabling the parking without the operation of immediately turning the turned steering wheel in the opposite direction, and a second target mark that indicates a rudder angle enabling the parking by the operation of immediately turning the turned steering wheel in the opposite direction. When a guide mark agrees with the first target mark, an image overlapping means brings about overlapping of a parking guide that is not associated with the operation of immediately turning the turned steering wheel in the opposite direction.
