<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shock absorbing device which improves comfort in a vehicle even when piston speed is significantly increased. <P>SOLUTION: The shock absorbing device D includes a cylinder 1, a partition wall member 2 which is inserted slidably in the cylinder 1 and divides the inside of the cylinder 1 into an extension side chamber R1 and a compression side chamber R2, a pressure chamber R3, a free piston 9 which divides the pressure chamber R3 into an extension side pressure chamber 7 and a compression side pressure chamber 8, and a spring element 10 which biases the free piston 9. This device is provided with a damping passage 3 which connects the extension side chamber R1 with the compression side chamber R2, an extension side sub damping passage 12, a compression side sub damping passage 13, and a switching mechanism 14. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
