<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a high-pressure discharge lamp, which is capable of combining an outer tube and a discharge tube by a simple step, forming a gap between the outer tube and the discharge tube and simplifying working steps. <P>SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the high-pressure discharge lamp including the cylindrical discharge tube including a pair of electrodes in its inside and the outer tube arranged around the discharge tube and configured so that the discharge tube and the outer tube are sealed in an end part area includes: a step for applying lubricant to the inner surface of the outer tube and/or the outer surface of the discharge tube; a step for inserting the discharge tube into the inside of the outer tube; and a step for heating the outer tube and the discharge tube and drying the lubricant. The method includes also a step for heating the outer tube and the discharge tube after the step for drying the lubricant, and in the heating step, the lubricant is burned down while leaving carbon contained in the lubricant. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
