<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus which decodes a signal in a receiver using a low density parity investigation error correction, and provide a method. <P>SOLUTION: A link circuit (100) included in the apparatus comprises: a first memory (302); a first and a second processing blocks (306, 308); a first shift circuit (305) which shifts data before inputting the data in the processing block (306); and a second shift circuit (309) which performs a reverse process of the first shift circuit after processing is performed in the processing block (306). The link circuit (100) comprises a second memory (312) which is used for intermediate storage and is shared by the first and second processing blocks (306, 308).
