<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tuning-fork type piezoelectric vibration piece that prevents a package mounted with the tuning-fork type piezoelectric vibration piece and vibration arms from colliding with each other even when impact is applied to the tuning-fork type piezoelectric vibration piece, and further to provide a mounting method of the tuning-fork type piezoelectric vibration piece. <P>SOLUTION: A piezoelectric vibrator accommodates a tuning-fork type piezoelectric vibration piece in a package. The tuning-fork type piezoelectric vibration piece comprises: a tuning-fork type piezoelectric vibration piece main body that has a plurality of vibration arms; a first short side portion that is formed along a direction intersecting a direction in which the vibration arms extend and is connected to the piezoelectric vibration piece main body; long side portions formed along a direction in which the vibration arms extend further than leading ends of the vibration arms toward a direction in which the vibration arms extend from the first short side portion; and a second short side portion formed by extending leading ends of the long side portions along a direction intersecting the direction in which the vibration arms extend further than the leading ends of the vibration arms.
