<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a blade edge replacing type roughing end mill, in which, even when a chip or deformation occurs in a flank part of a cutting edge in one of multiple cutting edges each having a recessed part formed therein, the other cutting edges can be reliably used. <P>SOLUTION: In the blade edge replacing type roughing end mill, a cutting insert 11 having the multiple cutting edges 14 in which the recessed part 16 is formed such that a recessed groove 15 formed in the flank 13 reaches a rake face 12, is detachably mounted to an insert mounting seat 4 formed in an end mill body 1.
