<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article for pets that can be maintained in a longitudinally folded or rounded shape with its front surface layer side inside, without having to newly provide a separate member. <P>SOLUTION: The absorbent article for pets includes a front surface layer 2, a back surface layer 3, and an absorber 4 and is in the form of a rectangle having a first end portion 11, a second end portion 12, and a pair of side portions. With the absorbent article wound around the girth of a pet, the first end portion 11 is disposed on the body side of the pet and the second end portion 12 is removably attached to the outer surface of the first end portion 11. The absorbent article further includes a locking member 7 disposed on the outer surface side of the first end portion 11 and capable of locking the inner surface of the second end portion 12. At least a part of the outer surface of the back surface layer 3 is formed of a member that can be locked by the locking member 7.
