<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator rope vibration suppressing apparatus configured such that a guide mechanism provided between a rotation unit and a fixation unit of a rope device absorbs vibration so as to suppress a vibration amount of the rope device and not to be affected by vibration displacement of a building, when the rope devices such as a governor rope or a control cable vibrate following vibration of the building by strong wind or an earthquake. <P>SOLUTION: The guide mechanism 10 are interposed between a sheave of a governor 6 for supporting the governor rope 8 connected to an elevator car and a governor mounting base 9 for supporting the sheave of the governor 6.
