<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an igniter system capable of improving the reliability by preventing accidental fire and fusion or deterioration of a medium due to failure of a coil. <P>SOLUTION: A collector voltage (turnoff voltage) during turning off of an IGBT 1 is monitored by a voltage level detection circuit 25. The length of a falling time period is measured. When the falling is different from normal falling, it is determined as coil failure, the IGBT is switched off to prevent misfire, and the combustion gas flow fed to a combustion chamber 300 is stopped to prevent fusion or deterioration of a catalyst. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
