A method for diagnostics of persistence of chronic inflammation of respiratory tract in children includes determination of immunological characteristics of biological material of the child patient. In children with bronchopulmonary dysplasia by the method of enzymoimmunoassay one determines the level of pro-inflammatory cytokines IL-1&bgr; and TNF-α in induced sputum at once after diagnosing bronchopulmonary dysplasia and each three months. If the level of pro-inflammatory cytokines in induced sputum is higher compared to rated or previous ones the persistence of chronic inflammation of respiratory tract is detected in child patient.
