The component (22) has a connecting piece (14) for connecting a suction tube, and a joint end section (15) formed on a side turned away from the connecting piece. The end section works together with another joint end section for pivotably connecting a suction head with the suction tube. A diaphragm (23) with a curvature is formed between the connecting piece and the former joint end section, where the curvature is adapted to a suction head housing. The connecting piece, the former joint end section and the diaphragm are made as a single-piece by an injection molding method. An independent claim is also included for a method for connecting a suction head with a suction tube.
