MAGNETIC HEAD AND MAGNETIC STORAGE DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic head able to detect a magnetic field leaking from a recording medium without causing a sensing current to flow and able to cope with a high recording density medium.

SOLUTION: The magnetic head comprises: a magnetization fixed part 51 in which magnetization is fixed; a magnetization free part 52 joined to the magnetization fixed part and changed in magnetization by an external magnetic field; and a pair of output terminals 56 and 57 connected to the magnetization fixed part and magnetization free part, one for each. A joint part 53 joining the magnetization fixed part and the magnetization free part composes a magnetic wall trap. Using a spin electromotive force resulting from the movement of a magnetic wall in the magnetization free part, a change in the external magnetic field is detected.
