The system has a rail system including rails (3) on which vehicles (1) are moved. Virtual cameras (2) are pivotably arranged in the vehicles. A transmission part transmits the images recorded by the cameras to a central controller of the system. The vehicles are inductively supplied by a primary conductor moved along the rails, where the system selects a virtual viewpoint outside the rails and along view direction. Data of the images are transmitted through a slotted waveguide moved along the rails. Positions of the cameras are determined at the virtual viewpoint. An independent claim is also included for a method for observation of an object and/or recording of a stereoscopic image of the object.
