PURPOSE: An electrode active material for a secondary battery and a producing method thereof are provided to reduce the producing amount of lithium oxide and lithium metal oxide when initial-discharging the battery, and to minimize the dead volume of a positive electrode. CONSTITUTION: An electrode active material for a secondary battery contains a first particulate formed with (semi)metal oxide capable of alloying with lithium, and a second particulate formed with an oxide containing (semi)metal and the lithium. A producing method of the electrode active material comprises the following steps: chemically or mechanically mixing the (semi)metal oxide and lithium salt without oxygen; and mechanically alloying the mixture. |
