<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery with suppressed polarization during high rate discharge and improved output characteristics. <P>SOLUTION: The nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery comprises a cathode including a cathode active material, an anode, and a nonaqueous electrolyte. The cathode active material contains lithium manganate represented by the general formula LiMn<SB POS="POST">1-x</SB>M<SB POS="POST">x</SB>O<SB POS="POST">2</SB>, where 0≤x≤0.2 and M represents at least one element selected from Al, Co, Ni, Fe, Mg, B, Nb and W. The nonaqueous electrolyte contains fluorinated carbonate. The lithium manganate contains, particularly, a structure belonging to at least one of C2/m and Pmmn of space groups. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
