<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery in which percent defective during ultrasonic-welding is reduced. <P>SOLUTION: According to one embodiment, there is provided a battery which comprises: a battery can; an electrode group that includes a positive electrode and a negative electrode; a plurality of electrode tabs 3 and 4; a lead member; a lid; and an output terminal. The plurality of electrode tabs 3 and 4 extend from the positive electrode or the negative electrode of the electrode group. The lead member is electrically connected to the plurality of electrode tabs 3 and 4. The plurality of electrode tabs 3 and 4 are overlapped to each other and at least one outermost layer of an overlapped portion is coated with protection leads 5 and 6. The lead member is disposed so as to be opposite to the protection leads 5 and 6 via the overlapped portion.
