<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically smoothly switch a tracking object. <P>SOLUTION: A subject image within a photographic screen by a photographic lens is obtained by a second imager 16, an image at the position to be tracked in the subject image is stored in a memory 19d as a template image (reference image), and the position to be tracked in the photographic screen is repeatedly detected (an image tracking function) based on a subject image, repeatedly obtained by the second imager 16, and the template image. Further, an amount of defocus (a focusing state) of a photographic lens is detected (an AF function) for a focus detection area set within the photographic screen, a focus detection area for adjusting the focus of the photographic les is determined based on at least a result detected by the image tracking function and a result detected by the AF function, and the focus of the photographic lens is adjusted according to the amount of defocus of the determined focus detection area. In a case where the focus detection area for adjusting the focus is a first-time AF area set in advance, an image in the first-time AF area within the subject image is used as a new template image, and the template image in the memory 19d is changed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
