<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently and economically treating the organic and/or inorganic substance to be oxidized in waste water stably over a long period. <P>SOLUTION: When a reaction tower is filled with two or more kinds of catalysts with different compositions and/or composition ratios to provide two or three or more catalyst layers, an oxygen-containing gas and waste water are fed to the reaction tower, and the waste water is subjected to wet oxidation at a temperature of ≤370°C and also under a pressure at which the waste water holds a liquid phase, a gas liquid is circulated in a downward parallel flow, and further, among components included in a catalyst, regarding at least one kind selected from a titanium oxide, a zirconium oxide and a titanium-zirconium composite oxide as a B component(s), the content(s) in the catalyst is made higher from an inlet to an outlet to the flowing direction of the waste water. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
