<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic electroluminescent element excellent in external quantum efficiency. <P>SOLUTION: This organic electroluminescent element has a positive electrode, a negative electrode, a luminescent layer provided between the positive electrode and the negative electrode while containing a luminescent material, and an organic layer provided between the luminescent layer and the negative electrode while containing a compound expressed by following formula (A). [in the formula, Ar<SP POS="POST">1</SP>represents an arylene group which may have a substituent group. n is an integer of 2 to 5. A plurality of Ar may be the same or different each other. However, at least one Ar is a fluorendiyl group which may have a substituent group. Each of X and Y independently represents a hydrogen atom or a group expressed by following formula (B), -C<SB POS="POST">w</SB>F<SB POS="POST">x</SB>H<SB POS="POST">y</SB>O<SB POS="POST">z</SB>. When X and Y are hydrogen atoms, at least one Ar<SP POS="POST">1</SP>has the group expressed by the following formula (B) as a substituent group.
