<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal head the performance of which is hardly degraded, even in the use over a long period. <P>SOLUTION: The thermal head comprises a head substrate 110, and a plurality of heating elements 145 provided along an array axis set on one major surface of the head substrate 110. The heating element 145 has a heating body 140, and individual electrodes 118 and common electrodes 114a connected ot the heating body 140. The common electrode 114a is connected to a common wiring pattern 114 disposed around the plurality of heating elements 145.
