<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the convenience of a tonneau cover device. <P>SOLUTION: A tonneau cover 42 is determined to be in an extension position upon contact with an object during movement to a storage position side. If the tonneau cover 42 is in the extension position when a back door is brought into a fully open state, a guide part 49a on a leading end side is brought closer to a guide 48.
