<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storage medium device and a storage device suitable for use in a possible urgent situation where a storage medium storing highly confidential data has to be hastily discarded. <P>SOLUTION: A storage medium device comprises: a user data storage section capable of storing encrypted user data; a key information storage section capable of storing key information to decrypt the encrypted user data; a key information deletion section which performs electric process to delete the key information stored in the key information storage section; a first switch which is manually operated by a user to instruct the device to activate the key information deletion section; a battery to supply power necessary for operating the key information deletion section; and a display section to show that deletion of the key information by the key information deletion section is completed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
