<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture an image forming device that is small and compact in size with low cost while efficiently suppressing accumulation of liquid developer inside a recessed portion of a transfer roller. <P>SOLUTION: A transfer roller 9 to which carrier liquid is applied by a carrier liquid application roller 15e is cleaned by a transfer roller cleaning roller 14c. A distance L1 from a rotation center of the transfer roller 9 to a peripheral surface of the carrier liquid application roller 15e when a recessed portion 9e of the transfer roller 9 and the carrier liquid application roller 15e are opposite to each other, similarly, a distance L2 from the rotation center of the transfer roller 9 to a peripheral surface of the transfer roller cleaning roller 14c and a radius R in a unit of mm from the rotation center of the transfer roller 9 to a peripheral surface thereof excluding the recessed portion 9e have a relation represented by the following expression therebetween: L2<L1<R.
