<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat treatment container for lithium-containing compound and a method for producing the container. <P>SOLUTION: The heat treatment container for a lithium-containing compound is a container to hold the lithium-containing compound in the heat-treatment of the lithium-containing compound. The container has a base part containing 60-95 mass% of alumina and a surface part formed integrally with the base part and containing 20-80 mass% of spinel.
