<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heald body manufactured from a foil-like thin material having a belt shape. <P>SOLUTION: A resin heald includes a heald body formed by separating, preferably punching out from a foil strip as an integrated body. The heald body includes at least two, preferably three or five longitudinal portions 15 and 16 neighboring each other in a longitudinal direction L. The two longitudinal portions 15 and 16 neighboring each other include different resins or composite materials, and/or have different thicknesses d1 and d2 or d2 and d3, respectively. In such manner, desired mechanical characteristics such as tensile strength, friction resistance, elasticity, and/or braking can be achieved by using the appropriate materials and the appropriate thicknesses (d1, d2 and d3). The heald body is separated from the foil strip having a plurality of strip portions.
