PORTABLE TERMINAL OPERATION MODE SETTING SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable terminal operation mode setting system which detects the present area of the portable terminal, thereby being capable of causing the portable terminal to operate reliably in an operation mode suited to the present area and to perform high-level navigation.

SOLUTION: The system is provided with: signal transmission means (20) which is installed in a predetermined area and transmits a radio wave containing identification information to identify the area; and operation mode change means (40) which when a portable terminal (30) receives the radio wave from the signal origination means, changes the operation mode of the portable terminal according to the identification information.
