<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To speedily keep up with a timing change caused by a data loss. <P>SOLUTION: A receiving apparatus comprises a synchronization circuit 14 and an equalization circuit 15. A detector 33 of the synchronization circuit 14 detects a data loss in a reception signal, and provides the detection result to an equalizer 42 of the equalization circuit 15. The equalizer 42 adjusts processing timing by the quantity of the data loss on the basis of the detection result of the data loss.
