PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fine ground fault detector and a fine ground fault detection method capable of easily detecting fine ground faults.

SOLUTION: A fine ground fault detector 1, which detects fine ground faults occurring on three overhead wires where three-phase alternating currents each of which has phases differing from each other by 120 degrees flow, includes three current detection circuits 13 for detecting each of currents which flow in the three overhead wires, and an adder circuit 31 for adding current values detected by the three current detection circuits 13.
