A method for forging cylinders includes broaching a hollow cylinder on a smooth mandrel. A blank such as a cylinder with an inner diameter D1 and H1 long is forced onto a mandrel consisting of a smooth cylinder and a ring with an outer diameter D2≤D and H2<H1 long so that the thickening is located directly over the ring. The thickening on the blank is deformed by an upper flat top striker to the required value with successive canting. |
