<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal device in which a signal outputted from a driving circuit can be prevented from being influenced even when a peripheral electrode for trapping ionic impurities is provided along a sealant on an element substrate on which a driving circuit portion is formed, and a projection type display device. <P>SOLUTION: In an element substrate of a liquid crystal device 100, a peripheral electrode 8a is formed in a peripheral region 10b arranged between an image forming region 10a and a sealant 107, to which a potential Vtrap for trapping ionic impurities is applied, the potential Vtrap being different from a common potential Vcom applied to dummy pixel electrodes 9b. The peripheral electrode 8a is extended along the sealant 107 outside an outside end portion 101b of a data line driving circuit section 101 and an outside end portion 104b of a scanning line driving circuit section 104, and therefore does not intersect with the data lines and the scanning lines. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
