<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the print quality of a thermal head. <P>SOLUTION: A heating element plate 1 of a thermal head includes: a support substrate 10, individual electrodes 12a, a heating resistor layer 11, and common electrodes 12b. A plurality of individual electrodes 12a are arranged on the upper face of the support substrate 10 at spaces in a main scanning direction dm. The heating resistor layer 11 comprises a plurality of heating resistors 11a arranged on the upper faces of the respective individual electrodes 12a at spaces in the main scanning direction dm. The common electrodes 12b are formed to cover the heating resistor layer 11. A current flowing through the common electrodes 12b flows through heating parts 11b of the heating resistor layer 11 and then flows to the individual electrodes 12a to cause the heating parts 11b to generate heat. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
