<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a user who performs settings for printing from being confused while improving user friendliness. <P>SOLUTION: In the case where a setting value of a specific item is selected in application-side setting processing, on a driver-side print setting screen in driver-side setting processing, the selected setting value is displayed in a restricted state as the setting value of the specific item (S335). In the case where an option of "designate by driver" is selected for the specific item in the application-side setting processing, on the other hand, on the driver-side print setting screen, a present driver-side setting value is displayed as the setting value of the specific item (S340).
