<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for the preparation of shaped articles that has high transparency and low haze, and comprises immiscible blends of thermoplastic polymers and a copolyamide, or a transamidized homogeneous blend. <P>SOLUTION: The method includes: a step (A) of melt-blending a first component comprising a thermoplastic polymer of polyesters, polycarbonates and/or polyarylates with a second component comprising a copolyamide or a homogeneous, transamidized blend of polyamides, wherein the first component and second component form an immiscible blend, the second component and the first component have a difference in refractive index of 0.006 to -0.0006, and the immiscible blend has a percent transmittance of at least 75%, and a haze of 10% or less; a step (B) of forming a shaped article; a step (C) of recovering a scrap polymer composition comprising the blended first and second components; a step (D) of grinding the scrap polymer composition to produce a polymer regrind; a step (E) of optionally drying the scrap polymer composition; and a step (F) of combining the polymer regrind with the first and second components of the step (A). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
