A method for assessing the effectiveness of treatment with pranidypin of patients with coronary heart disease with angina and hypertension comprises the comparison of patients before and after treatment. Before treatment with pranidypin in the patient at rest, 5 ml of blood is sampled from the cubital vein and properties of liquid blood are determined by measuring the viscosity of blood on rotary viscometer at different shear stresses of from 0.020 dyn/cm to 8.8 dyn/cm, then after treatment with pranidypin the sampling of 5 ml of blood is made from the cubital vein and similar research is performed. If blood viscosity at shear stress 0.3 dyn/cmis decreased by 7.1% compared with the voltage of treatment, the hemorheological results and antianginal effect are assessed as positive.
