The method (200) can include the steps of positioning (210) one or more metal components (140) in a mold (122), aligning (212) a film (138) for transferring an image (142) from the film (138) onto a surface (330) of a plastic component (305), injecting a material (180) into the mold (122) to form the plastic component (305) such that the metal component (140) will be embedded in the plastic component (305) and transferring (218) the image (142) from the film (138) onto the surface (330) of the plastic component (305) that has the embedded metal component (140). The method (200) can also include the step of removing (226) the transferred image (142) from the metal component (140) if at least a portion of the transferred image (142) adheres to the metal component (140).
