644,431. Fluid pressure operated brakes. PERROT, P. H., and DESOUCHES, H. B. Aug. 29, 1947, Nos. 23979 and 23980. Convention dates, Nov. 19, 1945 and March 6, 1946. [Class 103 (i)] A braking arrangement for a vehicle comprises in addition to the normal braking system a supplementary power-assisted brake using the induction depression of the motor and connected therewith by the operation of a threeway cock characterized in that an electric contact is arranged to close the circuit of a warning, lamp when the vehicle is loaded, the same lamp being extinguished when the cock controlling the actuation of the supplementary brake is opened to bring the power-assisted brake into circuit. A member 38 whose deformation varies with the load automatically closes the switch 35 when the load reaches a certain value and this closes the circuit from the generator 36 to the warning lamp 31. When the three-way cock 19 is opened to bring the power-assisted brake into operation switch 32 is open-circuited and the warning lamp 31 is extinguished. Various braking systems using this general electrical circuit are described and the threeway cock 19 may be operated automatically. |
