The blower has a housing with tubular housing parts, which sectionally overlap with each other in an overlapping zone (32) and are sectionally aligned with each other in an alignment zone. The overlapping and alignment zones form a gap (33), and a sealing element (34) is arranged in the gap and causes explosion protection of the blower. The housing parts have end regions (16, 23) possessing different lateral dimensions for axial assembly of the housing parts. The sealing element is formed as a solid material element, and is made of elastic material or sealing material.
