A dispensing device comprises a lid 2 for a vessel 6 adapted to deliver a metered quantity of a flowable substance and hass a dispensing outlet 1 located on the lid connected by a pipe 3 to a chamber 4 that in use sits within a vessel to which the lid is attached, the chamber having an inlet 5 allowing the contents of the vessel to enter the chamber. The chamber, pipe, inlet and outlet are arranged such that when the vessel to which the lid is attached a metered quantity of a flowable substance is dispensed from the chamber, through the pipe and out of the opening. Preferably, the dispensing device is sized such that the chamber is located at the bottom of the vessel to which the lid is attached in use. The dispensing device may be provided in a number of different sizes so as to be compatible with different vessels such as cups or beakers for children. In use, the dispensing device is especially suited for use by individuals who have problems with their epiglottis or by children who are learning to drink properly. |
