<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that it takes time and efforts to designate and delete data in the case of manually deleting the data of a portable storage medium, and that any problem is generated in the point of view of secrete holding and personal information protection when secret data to be deleted are not deleted due to carelessness. <P>SOLUTION: In storing storage data stored in a computer A to a USB memory 1, when the storage data are read from the USB memory 1, a user is made to set whether to perform the deletion (destructive reading) or holding (non-destructive reading) of the data from the USB memory 1.
