Finally, there is provided a network device (200) which is connectable to a data communication network (302). The network device (200) comprises at least two device components (212a, 212b, 212c) including a first device component (212a). Each device component (212a, 212b, 212c) has a communication interface (216) for communicating data. The communication interface (216) is accessible by using an internal, static network address associated with the communication interface (216). The network device (200) further comprises a node device (214) having an internal interface (218) for communication with the communication interface (216) of each of the at least two device components (212a, 212b, 212c) and an external interface (220) for communication with an external device (300) different from the network device (200). The node device (214) is configured for receiving external data (308) from the data communication network (302) and providing to the first device component (212a), in response the external data (308) and by using the internal network address of the first device component (212a), component specific data (312) related to the first device component (212a).
